Gum Recession

Gingival recession, also known as receding gums, occurs when your gum tissue moves away from the crown of the tooth and exposes the root surface. Gum recession is a common problem in adults, but it may also occur in a teenager or even younger child. Gum recession is a sign of bone loss around the tooth in the area that the gum has migrated away from the crown of the tooth. Gum Grafting is the treatment of choice to correct and prevent gum recession from continuing and Alloderm Gum Grafting is the technique we most often recommend in our office.

Alloderm Grafting

AlloDerm® Regenerative Tissue Matrix
Since its introduction to dentistry in 1997, AlloDerm Regenerative Tissue Matrix has been a widely accepted acellular dermal matrix (ADM) for soft tissue applications. AlloDerm supports tissue regeneration by allowing rapid revascularization, white cell migration and cell population - ultimately being transformed into host tissue for a strong, natural repair.
